Surprises are everywhere 13 and 11 miles

Reading in San DiegoOur foundation has kept a steady pace. We haven’t grown exponentially but we have made leaps and bounds. It is hard to believe four years has passed since we became official. They say many people give up when they are on the cusp of success. Being an endurance runner I believe this to be true. The other day I felt a bit down. I saw some of our previous supporters drop our foundation from their priorities list. The world works in mysterious ways though. We knew our slate was about to be filled with activity and we made our best efforts to prepare. I thought some of our sponsors would appreciate the fact that we took over a year to plan an 11,000 mile run around the perimeter of the United States. I’m not sure if they didn’t believe we would do it or if they just thought the event would not be a big deal. Either way their letter wished me well but informed me their budget was to the penny. Did I believe it? I wasn’t born yesterday. Did it get to me? I’d be lying if I said it didn’t. But, I went to my graduation ceremony, I went out for a run and I got back to work. What happened when I refocused surprised me. I found that I Longo Toyota had decided to renew it’s support for us. Then, I found that people could identify with my recent posts and would support our mission. To top it all off, I received a great surprise from our awesome doll maker in Ohio. She has been breathing life into our characters and we will be unveiling some great new creatures. All in all, I guess I wanted to thank all the people that continue to support our cause.
