I just realized my weight is dropping. As I consume more and more calories to keep my energy the fat reserves are dipping. I might even be below my ideal race weight. I take in plenty of protein right after every run and I make sure to eat mountains of carbs for energy. Perhaps I need to snack more throughout the day. I don’t believe I shed any pounds the first time I ran across America.
I had the chance to appreciate the intricate graffiti art on the roaring trains that passed me today. The big puffy lettering with rounded edges were accompanied by stunning pictures.I wondered to myself if the guys that do this go to the Home Depot and choose their color palate or if they just use the colors they can get their hands on. Like anything there are varying levels of talent. When something good passes you just have to appreciate it. I got to thinking about labels, markings, and tags. An image from yesterday’s run popped into my head. It was a mountain in Casa Grande which was adorned with the town’s initials CS. I thought to myself that Arizona has many of these mountains.
I believe pride is a good thing. Being proud of your heritage, of who you are, of what you do is a valuable character trait. I believe it keeps us from being complacent. We stay on our toes because of pride. I know that I overcame many of my struggles in life because of pride. It might even have been foolish pride.
