Day 32 Tucson to Vail – 22 miles

Miscommunication is the root of many arguments. We all think our own point of view is the correct point of view. What I’m saying is nothing new. But it is worth repeating. Perhaps I need to say it to myself every now and then. Do I take my support for granted? This morning Crystal expressed the sentiment that I don’t value what she does. What can I say about that? What can I do about it? Is saying thank you not enough? I will leave my point of view out of this equation. When deriving the answer I think I must not mix too many variables.

P1020779Despite a great sleep and a soothing bath, I ran on legs filled with lead. The verbal battle had drained my energy and I was not in a hurry to catch up to the support vehicle. Normally the overcast would have been cause of celebration but today was an exception. I tried to let the scenery cheer me up by walking slowly. What finally did the trick was seeing the retired aircraft at the Pima Air and Space museum. It was located next to Davis Monthan Air Force Base and the pilots were performing routine drills. My mood brightened even when the sun didn’t. They even had these two planes at the very end with colorful painted designs.

20140926_175653We continued on. We had a destination city but no destination for lodging. It was going to be a night in the fifth wheel and I’d probably take a shower with an used water bottle. As we entered the second part of the day the wind grew gustier and the dark billowy clouds rolled in front of the sun. We made it to a steakhouse in Vail with a huge parking lot. Being a vegetarian I wasn’t planning on a meal. I had one cold drink though to say thank you for letting us park. No wifi meant I would write my blog on paper. I had a chance to see just how far my penmanship had diminished. Perhaps the day was meant to be called early.
