My new journey

11/12/2011

It’s quiet now. It’s been several months since I finished running across America. Being away from the road is tough. I stay in shape but it’s just not the same. The element of the unknown is missing. I’m not one for predictability and yet I feel myself falling into that very scenario. I get up every day and head straight for the computer. I finished writing the first draft of my book but the task of adding layers is time consuming. At times I just want to chuck the computer. Of course I don’t. I go out running. What did you expect??

I did take a little break from everything for a couple of days. I helped my friend Sunny move to San Diego. We met up in Tennessee and drove back. He’s the friend responsible for getting me into the White House. The drive was restful. The colors on the trees felt the way autumn is supposed to feel. It’s such an east coast thing. In California everything still looks green. The landscape looks planned and man made. I love California and it’s my home but I have a gypsy’s heart.

Along the way I had the opportunity to connect with a couple of the friends I met while running across America. Seeing their faces made me want to hit the road all the more.

With three books at the printers and several more being produced I have a feeling this next year will be very busy. So I guess there is still some mystery in the air. I don’t know what 2012 will hold for me right? I do expect an ascent though. It’s been over five years in the making. I see little trickles everywhere. That’s what happens before the dam breaks.
