Day 149 McConnelsburg PA to Hagerstown MD 28 miles

7/12/2011

I’m not sure if it’s a heat rash, bed bugs or poison plant. Whatever it is, I hate it. I’m itchy all over and I’ve got to run. To top it all off, the stomach ache from yesterday carried over to today. It brought my pace to a crippling walk. At times I think I’m going to pieces. Maybe instead of having my body checked, I should have my head checked.

Watching secrets unfold
Watching fireflies dance and flame like meteor showers
And deer prance among the flowers.
Never in my wildest dreams
Did I think I’d walk along the streams
Where generals rested their men
Or feel so close to a time when
Things were different
Now I am different
The world has shared her secrets with me
She has revealed the possibility
