Day 131 Columbia to Ft. Wayne 24 miles

Bad boys, bad boys, what cha gonna do? What cha gonna do when they come for you?

So, this journey I am on is not just taking place on the road. There are parts of this journey that continue back in California. Of course, I wouldn’t have made so much progress without the help of home base. They keep tabs on my location and my needs while super talented artists are busy illustrating the next books in the series. We are riding the momentum and feeling good about doing good. It seems that every day, our little steps are steps of progress. It’s awesome to look back and recall the very first steps. Without a doubt I am surrounded by blessings.

Day 130 Warsaw to Columbia, Indiana 20 miles

It was an easy day. Except, I had to take shelter from a downpour under a tree. The leaves provided pretty good protection for the first ten minutes. The last five minutes though, the water penetrated the branches and leaves. Again my shoes were soaked. Not good for the tiny blisters. I was lucky the rains passed pretty quickly. I’m also lucky I had all my stuff in large trash bags. The things are great for protecting gear. (especially my electronics!)

Did I mention the tree was on top of a slope and that the rains made the slope muddy? Yes, I had to slide down the hill to get back on the road. At least the sun broke through and started drying everything. And, I was fortunate the area I took shelter didn’t have mosquitoes. All in all I couldn’t complain...

Day 129 Plymouth to Warsaw, Indiana 30 miles

I’m pouring my heart and soul into this portrait. America is my canvas. My feet are my brushes as they take me from one area of the canvas to the next. The people are my paint for they provide the brilliant colors. And of course the journey is my muse. She is unpredictable, tempermental, romantic, and beautiful. She provides me with the inspiration to take each step.

People often ask me why. They want to know the reason behind my actions. The thing is, I can’t pinpoint one reason. This journey initally started out as a personal quest. But since it’s inception, it has evolved. It’s clearly about more than just me now. It’s about everyone who I have come in contact with. Honestly, it’s difficult for me to comprehend my actions...
