Day 332 and 333 Thorp to Chippewa Falls to Menomine WI. – 60 Miles

8/8/2015

20150806_164346The only sound in our room was the low hum of our air conditioner. The room sheltered us from the sounds of traffic and rain. The sour smell of cow manure from the nearby dairy farms were also nonexistent. The Fair Bridge Inn and Suites kept us sheltered and comfy. The rain on the window left the view looking like static on an old television. I used the time to mill around and organize my upcoming days.

20150807_165458The media had been effective in spreading the word about my mission. Runners from everywhere had contacted me to join me on the road. The soft whisper of, “Breakfast is about to end” was like a little charge of electricity that ran through my synapses. It was happy to feed the machine that would carry me 30 miles on the day.

20150804_122053I had good news from an old friend and avid ultrarunner. He was only an hour away from my location. He had just arrived in Wisconsin and was looking to join me on the trails. Unfortunately we were unable to sync our schedules for the day. Perhaps it would happen another time.
