Day 282, 283, and 284 Bloomfield to Buffalo NY. -78 Miles

6/22/2015

20150619_154005I never expected grinding loud gears and people mowing lawns with industrial mowers in a town with a tiny population. The trick was to keep the focus off the sounds. I coaxed myself back to sleep for a couple hours. When I was able to finally pry my eyes open and start my day, Crystal had the kind of news that had been known to put a frown on my face. She showed me a large crack on the window of our truck. The damage had to have happened when we chose to stay asleep. Perhaps I should have heeded the sounds of nature. 20150614_090003The Victorian décor greeted me in the morning at the Rosemont Inn. Utica had been such a wonderful little surprise. I would have never guessed. The scent in the air meant Rita had been preparing something to tickle my taste buds. Crystal started the day with, what she said was, the best coffee she had ever tasted. Rita mentioned that the coffee had come from a local roaster. I started the morning with a yogurt parfait topped with granola. Actually I had two; Crystal wasn’t a fan of yogurt. I needed as much protein as I could consume. I had felt sluggish and knew that my muscles needed the rebuilding power of the aminos. Our main course was an omelet with a variety of green veggies. Each bite had the flavors of cilantro, basil, and other herbs...
