Day 265 and 266 Berwick ME to Concord NH. – 45 Miles

20150531_135127Like anyone else, I needed a short holiday from a taxing schedule. Each day on the road has had an individual identity. Often times the days were adventurous. I had seen sights change before my eyes as well as experience the local cuisine of each area. For me a holiday meant sleep and remaining stationary. It was much opposite from what most people think of. But, it was what I needed to recharge. We were blessed to be invited to the Beaver Dam Campground to enjoy a few moments of tranquility.

Day 260 to 262 Arundel to Brunswick ME – 48 Miles

20150526_182213The Hemlock Grove Campground provided us with a tranquil evening of sleep. Something about clean air helps my resting cycle. The lush greenery of the grounds surrounded our trailer like cradle. It also helped sooth the soul. Of course the miles I log everyday have something to do with getting good sleep as well. With the end in sight and a few scheduled rest days, I felt little pressure to exert myself. I chatted with Jim and Audrey before I left the site. My legs began to move around noon time. Crystal stayed behind to tidy the trailer. I weaved through construction, ran up hills, and of course down hills.

Day 258 and 259 Plaistow NH. to Arundel ME. – 62 Miles

20150525_185141I could feel the blood course through my veins. My body felt great as it moved ever closer to the halfway mark. Little bubbles of excitement percolated and popped while I continued to take in my surroundings. Dandelion puffs seemed to sit still in the air as I continued my journey through New England. I weaved through the annoying maze and tried my best not to inhale the floating spores.

20150525_191738Many businesses had closed doors because it was Memorial Day. Traffic was quiet and it allowed the rock and roll music from backyard barbeques to drift about.
