Day 216 Fuquay Varina to Raleigh, NC. – 21 Miles

I knew I had a short mileage day on the itinerary so I took the time to pamper my body. While my body luxuriated in the steaming tub, my intuition told me to check my emails. As the water eventually cooled, I remained reluctant to move. Of course I was glad I did. I was greeted by an email from Tom Woemer, the reporter from the day before. He sent me a digital copy of the story he wrote. He informed me that I had made the front page.

Days 214 and 215 Fayetteville to Fuquay Varina – 46 Miles

20150405_160159As Crystal and I took shelter at the Suburban Extended Stay, a couple ladies paced the street in front of the hotel. Actually one of them danced by herself under a streetlight. The performance entertained Crystal for a minute before we turned on the television. I yawned often while I tried to watch some super hero show but kept my eyes open to keep Crystal company. The moment we shut of the machine was the same moment my consciousness got shut off.

Day 212 to 213 Elizabethtown to Fayetteville, NC. – 37 Miles

IMG_2959There was no rush to leave the large lake and smiling people. Aches on various parts of my body communicated a desire for me to take a day off. I compromised by deciding to keep the mileage low. This allowed me to lounge around the mega park for many hours. My best effort to catch up on much needed rest was thwarted by the mundane chores which had been left neglected. It was funny how quickly things piled up from a day or two of neglect.
