Day 120 Pascagoula MS to Irvington AL. – 24 Miles

IMG_0578After watching the evening news, two local gentlemen befriended us. They commended us on what we were doing. Henry and David noticed that Crystal had no beverage and that my apple cider was just about empty. From that moment our cups never ran empty. It was a good thing too, I didn’t have any hydration before the report. We spent the time looking for somewhere that would allow us to watch it. Every few minutes, new people entered the establishment. Somehow the energy was buzzing.

Day 119 Biloxi to Pascagoula MS. 23 Miles

20141228_123826My hunger woke me from my sleep. I stumbled downstairs and searched for the breakfast room like a zombie. I was surprised to enter a packed breakfast area. I had no idea Biloxi was such a popular destination. The Oak Manor provided all the usual continental breakfast items and one special item. I poured my milk over some frosted flakes and consumed cereal for my first course. The cereal was followed by eggs, fruit, and yogurt. I wanted to get various nutrients into my body before I started putting away the Krispy Kreme donuts.

Day 118 Gulfport to Biloxi MS. – 12 Miles

20141227_160726The sound of thunder startled me out of bead. I crept over to the window and peered outside. It was a far different picture from the previous day. I went downstairs and enjoyed French toast, eggs, and oatmeal with blueberries and strawberries. I filled my tummy with plenty of nutrient dense foods. The grey clouds blanketed the entire sky. With only twelve miles to run I waited for a dry window of opportunity to make a dash.
