Patterns of long wavy lines were scribbled on the desolate beaches. I spotted very few people around my running environment. They were missing out on the glorious rays beaming from above. Without a cloud in sight, the day was perfect for running off a holiday meal. As my feet made their way through the state of Mississippi, I noticed the amount of litter on the roadside diminished exponentially. The amount of speeding drivers however, had increased.
After eight miles, I reached yet another long bridge. A wall protected a lane made for bicyclists and runners. I stayed relatively dry on the two miles stretch over calm water. It surprised me that I wasn’t dripping in sweat like I would have been one state ago; especially since I was right next to the water...
