Day 112 & 113 Lutcher to New Orleans LA. – 45 Miles

12/21/2014

P1030336The excitement for the road returned to my feet. I was ready to ride the wind at the crack of dawn. When I ran out of fresh shoes, aches crept into my body. It was then that this adventure began to lose its luster. My mental and physical health had always been tied together so both needed to be in tune to conquer such a journey. Day 110 & 111 Gonzales to Lutcher LA. – 28 Miles

When I reached the lobby, I waited to check discovered the smell of gingerbread came from a gingerbread house replica of the hotel. I was ready for one full day of rest and relaxation. The Hilton provided us with a room on the eighth floor overlooking the Mississippi river. The black and white photos on the wall complimented the view of grey skies. I stayed off my feet for most of the day, except for when I walked to the river to get a closer look at some steamboats.

P1030252Full rest days have kept the body from completely shutting off...
