Day 300 to 303 Akron to Upper Sandusky – 115.7 Miles

7/10/2015

20150706_115435I ran from Leon’s house through the city and into the country. The roads had become relatively flat so thirty plus miles didn’t sound like a daunting task. As I took to the streets I ran into some construction. When I reached the west end of town the air quality seemed a bit gray. As I ran past a pond I got stopped by a guy on a bike named Demitirus. He saw me running and turned to ask me a few questions. He was interested in fitness but I was pretty surprised that someone would go out of their way to talk to me. I had happened several times on the road and I wondered if I gave off a vibe that welcomed people to converse with me. If so I was happy to be approachable.

With two days of rest on my legs I was able to run strong. The roads that led to Akron had plenty of side trails and a couple of turns. I was pretty excited to run to Akron...

Day 297 -298 East Liverpool OH

7/5/2015

20150702_175931After four and a half years, not much had changed around East Liverpool OH. I ran through there on my first cross country adventure. The people were so good to me, I had to return. My friends Cheryl and Don hosted us for a couple of evenings. They arranged for the paper to do a story and they even put me in front of an audience. One thing I remembered about staying with Cheryl was that I received all the calories necessary to run strong. That was one thing that had not changed. Lightly seasoned frittatas and thick blueberry French toast brought back memories of the journey that started everything.

20150705_125423We spent the third of July seeing the nature around town. As I was taken by the local creek, my legs dangled and relaxed...
