Day 27 Casa Grand to Eloy AZ. – 12 miles

9/21/2014

P1020732The Fiesta Grande RV resort was quiet and very clean. It was not a small place either. The resort had two swimming pools, a crafts room, fitness center, computer room, Jacuzzi, and much more. It seemed like the place was mainly for seniors. When Crystal and I went exploring, and looked into their billiards room, we were interrogated by an older couple. I guess local kids must try to get into their facilities once in a while. We were happy to be in the tranquil setting. Even with the quiet surroundings, for some reason I was unable to sleep last night. Perhaps the thirty-eight mile run had switched on my endorphins.

Day 25 Relax, Day 26 Chandler to Casa Grande – 38 miles

9/20/2014

IMG_2868It’s funny how important a childhood best friend can be. The impact they have on our lives is great immeasurable. Day 24. Scottsdale to Chandler – 20 miles

9/18/2014

IMG_2816The sun came back strong but there was a hint of fall in the air. The itinerary for the day included speaking to a group of kids at Coronado High School about the importance of literacy. I had spent the previous night thinking about how to approach these kids. With the cross country team it was easy because I could fall back on the topic of running. With this class I would need to bring the message home and I would have to make it interesting. I felt very comfortable with these kids as they connected with what I was saying and doing. I have a bunch of new Facebook friends now and hopefully they will follow and be inspired by this journey.

Running in TempeIt seems as though every place we rest we unload a bunch of items. Normally I believe in travelling light...
