Day 34 Sun Valley to Pinta Rd. 29 miles

3/15/2011

I began the day with the catastrophe of Japan on my mind. The situation seems to grow worse each time I pass a newspaper or television. There are so many natural disasters these days. They seem to be growing stronger and more frequent. Some people say it’s because we recieve our information so much quicker than in the past. I know the tragedy is quite real but, because I am alone in the middle of nowhere, it seems like it’s a world away. One thing I do know is that people are good. I have experienced it first hand. The human spirit is resilient. Japan will overcome this disaster as they have overcome tragedy before. It’s like the things I am learning on this journey apply to many facets of life. I will dedicate this next week of running to Japan in the hopes that I can give a little bit of inspiration. If we fall, we get back up. Never give up!
