Day 149 McConnelsburg PA to Hagerstown MD 28 miles

7/12/2011

I’m not sure if it’s a heat rash, bed bugs or poison plant. Whatever it is, I hate it. I’m itchy all over and I’ve got to run. To top it all off, the stomach ache from yesterday carried over to today. It brought my pace to a crippling walk. At times I think I’m going to pieces. Maybe instead of having my body checked, I should have my head checked.

You all know I don’t mean it. I love what I’m doing. I love the adventure and I most certainly love the people. Besides, I’d probably still contract these ailments if I were lounging around at home. Where is home again? All I’ve come to know is straight ahead. Moving forward with tunnel vision has me a bit discombobulated. The days, the months, and the terrain have kind of melted together. I’ve become so accustomed to the road that I’ll probably end up trying to give friends and family a tip when I eat over at their homes. My routine is so ingrained that I’ll probably wake up and start packing my bag and pull up google maps to see where I’m going. I’m going to have all sorts of strange behavioral patterns after this.

Finishing Pennsylvania was great. I’m in my thirteenth state. Soon all aches and pains will be a distant memory.
