The answer

Running has given me so much in life. I know I’m not alone. When I summon the energy to rise before dawn and hit the road, I’m surprised to find there are others out there hitting the pavement. I think it is the idea of unbridaled freedom. The run teaches us about everything around us but most importantly it teaches us what is within.

I’ve often asked myself, “If the heavens wanted to share it’s secrets with me would I want to know?” The answer must be yes because as I run and sweat, answers come. They come in flashes. Brief and momentary. But that kind of knowledge is just too much for any human to process. Hence, the momentary glimpse. We think. And most times we over think. It is how we create pressure.

For me running is very much about each moment. I don’t focus on the future or on the past. I listen to my body. It is my guide. My heart beats strong. I feel perfectly aligned. I have no worries. In fact if I have any ailments, running is the cure. Running keeps the viruses away from my body and it takes the pressure off my shoulders. When I watch other runners, I see a radiant glow. I feel their glow. Running can even mend a broken heart. A bold statement yes. But true. If I’m down in the dumps, I run. It helps every time.

Addiction to running is quite common. Like a drug you can suffer withdrawl. We want to hang on to the bliss. Unfortunately the body must stop at some point. Rest up! Sleep well! Do it again.
