Shoes shoes shoes 12 miles

shoesWhy do women love shoes? They care so much about what goes on their feet. I am often asked about the kinds of shoes I use to run. Now I know lots of people are devoted to certain brands. I however will use whatever is the most functional. It doesn’t necessarily need to be fashionable but I would prefer they not be ugly. With that said I’d just like to take a moment to make a point. I trained for over three years in canvas shoes that were somewhere in the neighborhood of a dollar. They wore out quickly but I didn’t expect much. Over those years I discovered that I didn’t need expensive shoes to be a great runner. All I needed was dedication and an enjoyment of the moment.

busted brooksFast forward to now. I go through so many shoes it is ridiculous. Whenever I find something that speaks to my feet I try to purchase more than one pair. Maybe I’m not so different from all those shoe loving women out there. The other day I just began running in a Saucony trail running shoe. I will write the model down on Saturday when I rate it. One thing I will say about training in trail running shoes is that, afterwards, when I put on light weight racers my feet feel light as air. I just dusted these Brooks Pure Flow which fell short of my expected five hundred miles. For the coming adventure I will need something that can take a beating. I will use the next few months to search for this very shoe. When I find it you will be the first to know.
