Day 91 Drove to Cincinnati to take my stuff to a safe place. ran 7 miles in the morning before driving

5/11/11

Sometimes this world knocks us down but we should never let it knock us out. We must stand up. Triumph and disaster are in the mind. Rudyard Kipling wrote in his famous poem “If” that if you can treat the two imposters the same, you are a man. When I lose my composure and things seem dark this poem always calms my nerves. Momma had to get rushed to the hospital and it looks like she might be out of commission for a while. I count my lucky stars that we are alive. Momma’s gonna be pretty sore the next couple of days, I’ve got a few gashes on my face and JC’s neck is a little stiff but we count ourselves pretty lucky. Considering we got completely blindsided by a driver running a red light, the three of us are lucky to be here. A jarring crash sometimes puts everything back into perspective.

I guess because the three of us are in the thick of things and because we aren’t far from our goal, we all immediately wondered what is the next ste...
