I could hardly believe how good my run felt today.

I could hardly believe how good my run felt today. It was a light day and I ran fifteen miles. The surprising part about today was how little I sweat. Perhaps it is because of the Autumn air. Perhaps it is because the milage is slightly less then the twenty some miles I have become accustomed to. Whatever the reason, it felt nice.

I like to start and end my workouts with uphill climbs. I like to start with a climb to give my body a challenging frame of reference. It makes the rest of the run pass easily. That is until I reach the last stage. The last vertical climb puts the first hill to shame. As I gasp for air on this insane climb my ears begin to clog from the change in altitude. I am not kidding. I do this to myself to test my heart and willpower. I figure if I push myself past my limits on a daily basis, when crunch time actually arrives, I will be prepared.

Speakin of crunch time, it’s less than two months until departure. My mom arrives in less than two weeks. She will be a big blessing to this entire project. Our team grows bigger with each passing day. A good friend of mine arrived earlier this week. He has come to join the team and run with me. He has come all the way from Shanghai China to offer me his support. I appreciate immensely this show of suppport from my friend J.C. The expectations are mounting as well. Over this phase we will finalize our beneficiaries as well as our main sponsors.

I will include the view from the top of today’s hill. It is breathtaking and worth every drop of sweat I paid to reach the top. One day this photograph will be replaced with a photo from a place on the other side of the country. It’s only going to take a few more drops of sweat and a few more steps.
